Essential reading for any traveller on a spiritual path.
I came across this book by chance in a Chennai bookshop 2 years ago. At first glance it was not the type of book I would normally buy, given its focus on astrology. However this book has enormous depth and it revealed a large area of Hindu philosophy and spiritual investigation which was unfamiliar to me. Hindu astrology has nothing to do with the motions of the physical planets per se, rather it is a profound philosophical study of the “movement of life”. It is a spiritual system of learning, devoted to a deeper understanding of human life, karma, and destiny.
It is an excellent book which leads the reader on a journey through this ancient science and how it can be used to show the path for Ramana Maharshi’s moksha (liberation). The first half of the book provides a very good overview of Hindu astrology (jyotisa) and it’s central role as the “eye of wisdom”. The second half is devoted to understanding the profound nature and structure of the Maharshi’s moksha, from the point of view of the predictive tools and insights of Hindu astrology.
I highly recommend this book; it really is essential reading for any traveller on a spiritual path. It will provide a valuable insight to the journey. To quote Ramana Maharshi: “There is no need to rush about anything; everything happens at the appointed hour as per the Divine Will”.
Sri Ramana Maharshi’s Moksha: A Hindu Astrological Pilgrimage into the Life and Moksha of Sri Ramana Maharshi (Paperback)
Moksha, i.e. enlightenment, is at the heart of the Veda, the universal knowledge of the higher states of consciousness. Moksha is considered as the ultimate goal of human life. Techniques to reach these higher states of consciousness were taught from time immemorial by true spiritual masters, having reached enlightenment. Who will reach this ultimate goal in this lifetime? In his book `Sri Ramana Maharshi’s Moksha’, Dr Sankara Bhagavadpada examines the answer to this question through System’s Approach, the scientific and systematic approach of Vedic Astrology. Through his scientific background, Dr Sankara Bhagavadpada brings a new light on a mysterious subject through the life of Sri Ramana Maharshi, the great Indian master revered all over the world by devoted followers. He clears also the conditions for its occurrence.
The book transcends the limitations of all human life and gives a clear picture of the cosmic part of our human condition. Whether you are a spiritual seeker, a western astrologer, or a Hindu astrologer, or just an intelligent layman curious about enlightenment, this book will bring answers to all your questions about the true meaning of life. A truly inspiring and universal work for all of us.
